The Adriatic Chamber Music Festival is an intensive chamber music program where students have the opportunity to study and perform with internationally renowned faculty artists and teachers. The festival takes place in Bonefro, a small Italian village near the Adriatic coast, four hours east of Rome by car. Students will be living and working in an old two-story XVI century Franciscan monastery. Spanning over 30,000 square feet, this historic building was restored in 1998 for the inaugural summer of ACMF.
The festival will offer a series of student and faculty chamber music performances, private instruction, and master classes with faculty and visiting artists. Extracurricular activities will be provided, including Italian language lessons, swimming in the Adriatic Sea, and possible sight-seeing tours. Excursions in past summers have included visits to Rome, Florence, Sienna, Assisi, Pompeii, the Tremiti Islands and Venice.
