Room and Board
Students live on the second floor of the monastery in furnished rooms with two to four beds. Meals are freshly prepared and served in an authentic Italian restaurant in Bonefro.
The Convent in Bonefro, where the festival resides, is almost 500 years old and has not served as a convent for almost 400 years. Over the past 400 years, the Convent has served as a police station, a prison, a school, and now primarily serves as the main residence of the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival. Prior to the festival's first session, the Convent underwent a restoration solely for the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival. The building itself sits on a foundation that dates back to the town's origins, nearly 2,000 years ago. Many of the rooms in the convent have panoramic views of the local countryside stretching out to the Adriatic coast and beyond.
Authentic Italian meals are served in a local family restaurant just off the main piazza in Bonefro. The food served at the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival could easily be considered some of the best food of any music festival in the world. Food is a central part of the Italian cultural experience!
During festival excursions, students and faculty are housed in hotels. In Rome, the festival will reside in a hotel less than a five minute walk to St. Peter's Square in Vatican City, and within walking distance of many of Rome's premiere attractions.
